Sarah Worlton

Suzette first came to my house in Lehi, Utah several years ago as a guest of my sister Mary. They were friends from their days in Boston and I remember hearing stories about how the two of them went on several adventures together! I must have been in my teen years when she came over one day for Sunday dinner but the memory of Suzette lighting up the house with her dynamic personality and her incredible zest for life is something I will never forget. She left a mark in my mind, that is for sure.

Years later, life took me to Washington, DC and I caught word that Suzette was making her way out here and I was so excited to meet up with her and become friends! Suzette and I quickly connected and it wasn't long until we got together. We would meet from time to time and chat about life, jobs, the gospel, men, heartache, overcoming challenges and, hope for the future! Every time I am with her I hang on her every word and I am edified and uplifted.

I have never met anyone that has such a clear picture of who she is and what she wants out of life. Being a single woman in the church can be really hard and I don't doubt that Suzette has felt that sting from time to time. But, what is SO refreshing and admirable about Suzette is she stands on her own two feet and doesn't let things brake her. One night she and I met for dinner and after, we went on a walk. She said something that I will never forget. "In your 30's, that is the time to create your platform of who you are, your career is set, and you have weeded out all the garbage that has come your way. I have built that platform, and now, in my 40's, I'm going to stand on it!" I love that!

Happy Birthday Suzette. I wish you all the happiness and joy in the world!
