Kennan (Robertson) De Gruccio

As I'm thinking back on the short time I knew you, Suzette, during those good-ol' BYU days, I realize that we've been long-distance friends much longer than we were apartment mates at Hampton Court in Provo! And I also realize that my memory is probably much worse than yours (even if I am 3 years younger...hee hee). But here goes...

I remember living on the bottom apartment at Hampton with Melissa, Mandy and Mindy (incidentally, I still keep in touch with two of them!) You lived on the very top, right? We were in the same ward. You were further along in your education (me just a wee sophomore!), but you didn't care because you were a friend to many. You were fun, accepting, free-spirited and easy to talk to. I remember foot rubs! And maybe a few dances? The boys I loved hanging out with the most were that small group of oldies (yeah, they were old to us because we were sooooo young back then): Gus (Gustavo!), Damon Kovacs (the crush of my life) and Bruce.

It was just a year but it was so much fun! I wish I had a camera then, because I have absolutely no record of that time period in my life, including my friendship with you. Late nights, lots of studying, and trying to get boys to fall in love with us. Ahhhhh, the days. Did you ever come down and dance along with us when we blared "Copa Cabana" at the most inopportune times of the night?

Since then, you've faithfully kept in touch. You are amazing that way. Plus, you've managed to remember my birthday almost every year since then (and it was 1992!); maybe because we share such a close date with mine being on the 3rd of March. I just hope I am as self-actualized as you are when I finally reach forty (which is not far away...).

Enjoy looking back on the years and celebrating and remembering.
